It's Not Too Early

Many people are pondering their brains and choosing their New Year's Resolution to start Jan. 1 as if it's too early to start working on it at the moment. There is no need to wait until January 1. Start now! By January 1, it will no longer be a resolution, but a lifestyle. Grab a notebook and let us get to work! Below are a few steps to get you started:
1. Get a notebook and write down your goals for the next six months. These goals must be reachable goals. For example, if you will like to buy a home. This is reachable but it may not be reachable within six months. This will not happen overnight and may not occur within the first six months, but you need to find out the proper procedures to purchase a home and if you will qualify for it. So right now what should you do? Check your credit score. If you need a higher credit score then your reachable goal for the next six months should increase credit limit by paying off some bills or hiring a credit repair consultant. It can be done but it takes work.
2. Under each goal, write down the steps to achieve those goals. For example, if you would like to get a college degree of course this will not happen in the next six months, but the steps to reach those goals will allow you to accomplish the primary goal. Your steps could look similar to this: Fill out an application, apply for financial aid, complete all documents needed to get accepted in school, etc. All of these steps are reachable.
3. Put a date on those goals. For example, Fill out an application by December 3, apply for financial aid by December 13 etc. This will give you a timeline to complete them. It will also push you to get it done. It makes you accountable for your goals. Put it in your phone to remind you that this is the deadline to get these things done.
4. Set daily goals also. Although you have a primary deadline, set a daily to-do list or alarm to work on it each day. A project is much easier when you are working a little piece at a time.
I found out while working on a goal and successfully completing it daily rather small or big, it changes your spirit. You feel accomplished. It makes you feel complete. Try it. Set a goal this week. A reachable goal. Try something easy like fold the clothes that are on the couch this week. Watch how it makes you feel. YOU GOT THIS! Let us get to work!
